Greater Buffalo Gymnastics Center is proud to offer two competitive options for our female athletes – the USAG Women’s Development Program and USAG Xcel Program. Both programs offer athletes diverse ways to participate in high-level gymnastic competition. Here at Greater Buffalo Gymnastics Center, we pride ourselves on the strength and commitment of our Women’s Development team members and coaches. The Greater Buffalo staff has been involved in training numerous Women’s Development State Champions, Regional Champions, a National Champion, a National Team Member, Empire State Games Champions, NCAA Champions and Competitors, and many collegiate gymnasts.

Women's Development Program
Skill: Invitation OnlyWomen's Development Program
The Women’s Development program was created with the belief that all athletes, regardless of their potential, must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely. The program allows the gymnast to advance at her own pace, competing in more than one level in a year, if she so chooses. The Women’s Development Program is divided into three major segments; developmental, compulsory, and optional. (USAG Website, 2017)
At Greater Buffalo Gymnastics we offer Levels 3-10 for our athletes.
- Compulsory – Levels 3-5
- Optional – Levels 6-10
Gymnasts will be recommended to our team based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: strength, flexibility, coachability, and more. The Women’s Development program requires a great deal of time and dedication, which should be considered carefully upon recommendation to team.
Xcel Programs
Skill: Invitation OnlyXcel Programs
The Xcel Program is designed to offer a broad-based, affordable competitive experience outside the traditional Women’s Development Program to attract and retain a diverse group of athletes. (USAG Website, 2017)
Greater Buffalo Gymnastics offers competition at all 6 levels of the Xcel program to allow athletes to continue progressing in their gymnastics, while allowing them to pursue other activities outside of the sport.
